Prior to coming to Hawaii, Mr. Gartner worked as a consultant in Canada, South-East Asia and Australia on a wide variety of projects dealing with industrial pollution, contaminated lands, solid waste management and water treatment. While in Australia he was project manager on behalf of the Queensland EPA for the post-fire remediation of Binary Industries (pesticide factory). He has conducted assessments for waterborne disease on water supplies in western Canada and has spoke at a number of conferences on the topic. Presently, Mr. Gartner is a senior engineer at SSFM's Honolulu office.
