Aloha Stadium Replace Metal Roof Deck and Transformers

(Sections LL to QQ, R and S, and L to Q)

In 1975, a football game between the University of Hawaii and Texas A&M was the first event held at the Aloha Stadium. Built at a cost of $37 million, the aging facility now requires continuing maintenance and renovations. SSFM has had a long time relationship with the stadium. We were called upon to prepare engineering design and construction documents for the removal and/or replacement of the roof decking for the north fixed stands and three moveable stands, and to relocate transformers to the back of the roof structure. The work included the removal and/or replacement of the metal decking from the backside of the light enclosure to the gutter, and removal of the gutter and support decking in the southeast and north sections of the stadium.
