New Mauka Concourse Extension

The terminal modernization program for the new Mauka Concourse at the Honolulu International Airport will add a 2 story, 220,000 sq. ft. building that connects with the existing inter island terminal. The facility is capable of accommodating up to 10 narrow body or 5 wide body aircraft. SSFM is providing structural engineering services for the site and the structures.

The terminal includes passenger service functions, including hold rooms, concessions, restrooms, circulation corridors, moving walkways, vertical transportation systems, and associated building systems, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

More / Less
The site preparation entails demolition of the existing commuter terminal structure, ground level parking lot ‘B’ and terminal landside roadways; hazardous material remediation of the building and subsurface site work; modification of the roadway; removal and/or relocation of existing sanitary sewer, water, storm drainage, underground electrical, light poles and bases.

Installation of new underground sewer, water, storm drainage with inlets and manholes; relocation of chain link fencing, asphalt paving, curbs, gutters and pavement striping; and the foundation systems for the Mauka extension are a part of the project scope.
